‘Beginning to get disillusioned’ – Plenty of fans react as Arsenal prospect confirms League One stay

Doncaster Rovers have extended the loan of Arsenal youngster Ben Sheaf until the end of the season, as reported by the Gunners’ website.

Sheaf has impressed in his loan spell at the Keepmoat, playing 25 times for Rovers since leaving North London in the summer. He’s also proven to be versatile, often playing in central midfield but covering the centre-back role when required.

The 21-year-old has previously been on loan at Cheltenham but has grown into senior football under Darren Moore. The Dartford-born player was delighted to have secured an extension to the loan deal.

“I’m extremely happy to be staying until the end of the season,” he said.

“It’s a fantastic club with great fans, staff and players. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far and I’m looking forward to a positive second half of the season.”

Whilst it is a great signing for Doncaster, it only continues what they have right now rather than adding value and that seems to be the crux of the fan’s concerns. On a day when they also secured Seny Dieng until the rest of the season, much of the current feedback is based around what they still need, not happiness at securing what they already have.

We’ve selected a few of the responses from social media which have an underlying air of concern after a recent slump.
