Lincoln City and Blackpool are both in the hunt for Celtic defender Jack Hendry, as reported by the Daily Record.
The 24-year-old, who has three Scotland caps to his name, has disappeared from sight at Parkhead this season and is reportedly going to be allowed to seek pastures new in order to resurrect his career.
Hendry began his career with Celtic as a youth, also spending time with Peterborough, Dundee United and Partick Thistle. After making four senior appearances for the latter he earned a move to Wigan, but struggled to break into their side.
After loan spells with Shrewsbury and MK Dons he moved to Dundee where his performances caught the eye of Celtic once more. He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Hoops in January 2018 but has made just 27 appearances since, only one of which has come this season.
Blackpool are currently challenging for a promotion place in League One, whilst Lincoln City have put daylight between themselves and the bottom three with four wins from six.
It’s thought Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Bolton were also all interested, but none have been able to get deals over the line or form an attractive move for the 24-year-old.
Blackpool would perhaps offer a more competitive environment with their current league position, but Lincoln City have given Joe Morrell a platform to earn international honours with Wales.
If Hendry could get the same exposure it would make the LNER Stadium a sensible destination.
