Sunderland were held to a 0-0 draw by crisis-club Bolton Wanderers yesterday to drop to 15th in the table.
The Black Cats are currently as low in the Football League as they’ve ever been, despite having sacked Jack Ross after just two league defeats. His replacement, Phil Parkinson, has completely failed to turn things around.
Instead, they’ve won just one game of their last twelve and are plummeting towards the bottom of the division, rather than mounting the expected promotion challenge.
Parkinson cuts a beleaguered figure in his interviews, already under pressure from the fans and seemingly unable to inspire his team. Aiden McGeady, last year’s Player of the Year, has been told he can leave and yet without his creativity, they’ve offered little in their recent matches.
Parkinson was disappointed yesterday, saying; “I am disappointed not to get all three points. We created a lot of chances but didn’t capitalise.”
That’s not the way the supporters see it, berating the manager for his negative style and pondering on exactly how long he can cling on with the struggling Wearsiders.

You’re at a point now where fans who have stuck by you through thick and thin, through successive relegations, through 650 mile round trips are beginning to lose faith. Get this man out of our club & Invest in a manager and players who are capable of getting us out of this league

I’m not one for crying for managers to be sacked, but this is our worst league position EVER … let that sink in … and then do something about it… this is the same team that we’re hard to beat only a handful of months ago… 15th in league 1 now… #allchange

Was he watching the same game as me .. ..5 defenders at the back 2 tortoises in mf and an excuse of a no 9 …. absolutely no creativity v the bottom mishmash of the league team …..they leaked 6 v Accrington…it was absolute dross and he is kidding to say otherwise ..

Talk is cheap, it is the end product we expect to see on the pitch, and to be honest we are not seeing anything that resembles a team that is hungry to compete and win games. All we are getting is boring lack lustre performances.

This is the worst manager I have had to experience in 45 years since my first SAFC game. An uninspiring appointment I will not return to the SoL until he goes.
