Salford City are keen on a move for Bradford City midfielder Daniel Devine as reported exclusively by Football League World.
The article claims a source at Salford has confirmed the link to FLW Chief Editor Sam Rourke.
Devine has featured thirteen times in League Two for the Bantams this season but failed to make the matchday squad for their last two fixtures and according to FLW Salford are looking to lure the twenty-two-year-old away from Valley Parade.
The Bradford born player signed a one-year contract extension in the summer keeping him tied to the club until the end of the current campaign. He came through the ranks at his hometown club to make over fifty appearances following his debut in 2016.
Salford are making a good fist of their first season in the EFL and remain an outside bet for the playoffs. They are fourteenth in League Two, and the feeling is if boss Graham Alexander bolsters his squad in January a late run to the top seven could be a possibility.
With Devine currently out of favour with boss Gary Bowyer, he could be a target for an initial loan move with a view to making the deal permanent in the summer according to the report.
Our View
Devine was linked with a move away from Bradford in the summer after being injured for much of 2018/19.
However, he opted to stay another year when Gary Bowyer offered him a new contract.
There could be something in this one, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him arrive at Salford in January.
He’s a decent player and would add extra strength and legs to the Salford City engine room.
