Scunthorpe United are keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday youngster Osaze Urhoghide with a view to a January loan move as reported exclusively by footballleagueworld.co.uk.
According to the report, the defender has impressed in the Owls Under-23s since arriving at Hillsborough in the summer following his release by AFC Wimbledon.
He’s yet to make a senior appearance for Sheffield Wednesday but is regularly training with the first team, and the coaching staff at Hillsborough feel his rapid development would further benefit from a loan spell and the prospect of first-team football for the rest of the season.
FLW also claims Scunthorpe have been monitoring the progress of the nineteen-year-old with a view to signing him once the transfer window opens.
The League Two outfit believes the centre-back is potentially a decent addition who could help them build on their recent good form under Paul Hurst.
Following a dreadful start to the campaign, the Iron are currently thirteenth in League Two after an impressive run of seven league games without defeat.

Not going to pretend to know much about Urhoghide, but he was highly thought of by many at Wimbledon.
The speculation might underwhelm Scunthorpe United fans, but these loans are a fact of life in League Two, and the youngster might just a good signing for the Iron.
