‘Can we swap it for three points?’ – These MK Dons fans react to first win in two months

MK Dons sixty-three day wait for a win ended at Stadium MK last night as they ran out 2-0 winners over Coventry City in the EFL Trophy.

After a goal-less first half, Kieran Agard and Joe Mason fired Dons into the next round and gave their fans that winning feeling for the first time in just over two months.

Even a Brennan Dickenson’s red card couldn’t dampen their delight at seeing off the Sky Blues and end their dreadful run which has seen them slip towards the bottom of the League One table and part company with their promotion-winning boss from last season, Paul Tisdale.

It was new manager Russell Martin’s first win in charge at the fifth attempt, and even though it was against a much-changed Coventry line-up, MK fans were thrilled with the success when they took to social media.

Many have seen gradual signs of improvement under Martin and hoped the win would give their side confidence in the crucial upcoming Christmas period. Others did show a sense of perspective, pointing out the victory only came in the much-maligned competition and questioned whether they could exchange progression into the next round for three much needed League One points.

Here is a selection of their responses to the result on Twitter.
