Lincoln City slipped out of the FA Cup yesterday, losing 1-0 to Ipswich Town in dramatic circumstances.
In a game the Imps never looked likely to lose, a last-gasp goal from Alan Judge condemned them to a second straight defeat. Manager Michael Appleton has only won two matches in charge of the club, one of those in the EFL Trophy against Rotherham.
They went into last night’s game without talisman and reigning Player of the Year Michael Bostwick, midfield general Michael O’Connor and on-loan star Joe Morrell. Morrell, who has been away on Wales duty, has made a real name for himself during his Sincil Bank loan spell and has been rewarded for his endeavour.
He has just penned a new three-year deal with parent club Bristol City, but will now return to Lincoln’s relegation battle until January at the very least. He’s on a season-long loan with the Imps, with regular football surely the aim over the next six months as he looks to secure a Euro 2020 place.
Morrell is a bright hope at Ashton Gate and explained how he’s only ever wanted to play for Bristol City. With only two more months before a possible recall, he might soon get his wish after impressing for Ryan Giggs’ Wales.
These fans are certainly delighted he’s bee tied to a longer Robins’ contract.
Genius City once again – Securing his services for another 3 years in the biggest week of his career – ๐ดโช๏ธ ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ ๐๐๐๐

Good news for the future, maybe heโll be back in Jan, if not it seems like he is developing brilliantly this season

Great news, I thought we might struggle to tie him down after the progress heโs made of late. A really exciting prospect for next season ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
