Bolton Wanderers keeper Remi Matthews has found himself in the team of the week in League One for his outstanding performance against MK Dons.
The Trotters moved into positive points after overcoming their 12 point deduction with a victory against relegation strugglers MK Dons this weekend. The game looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw, but veteran striker Daryl Murphy stepped up and bagged a late, late winner.
Whilst he was the hero of the hour going forward, Matthews was the man of the moment at the back. He pulled off several key saves and earned his inclusion in the team of the week, as selected by the EFL.
He took to Twitter to celebrate his inclusion, tweeting two bicep pumps to indicate his delight. After finally seeing his side move into a positive total for the season, both him and his teammates deserve the chance to celebrate.
Whilst debate rages on around their future punishment, as well as their youth team results causing controversy early on, it’s nice to see some positive news around the club, something echoed by these fans on Twitter.
Well deserved to fella .
