‘Starting to see the cracks’, ‘Dreadful’ – These Ipswich Town fans are not happy after Rotherham defeat

Ipswich fell to a second successive defeat last night as Rotherham United won 2-0 at Portman Road.

After losing to Accrington Stanley at the weekend, Paul Lambert’s men would have been keen to cement their place at the top of the table with the visit of Rotherham United. This was a Championship clash last season and both hope to get straight back up.

Whilst the Blues have set the early pace, Rotherham have struggled but went into the game with three wins in four, although a home defeat against Oxford at the weekend did set them back.

They attacked Ipswich with gusto and an 11th-minute goal by Matt Crooks gave them a lead to defend. Crooks doubled the advantage after the break and the Millers defended their lead well to register a 2-0 win.

Ipswich were certainly lacking in attacking prowess, they managed just three shots on goal the whole game despite having more possession. The defeat meant they slipped off the summit, replaced by Peterborough United, but with a game in hand of their promotion rivals.

The back to back defeats have left some Blues fans concerned about the future; trips to Southend and Rochdale should go some way to putting them back on the top of the table but anything less than six points will severely dent their title ambitions.

They’ve been reacting on social media and, as you’d expect, a few are not happy.
