Coventry City travel to Peterborough United this weekend, but the Posh pricing structure has left some fuming.
Peterborough are the most expensive team to watch in League One but despite this, the Sky Blues have already sold 1,250. They can pay on the day but will be subject to a ‘matchday increase’ if they do so.
An adult ticket to watch the game costs £26, whilst senior citizens pay £21. Even disabled fans pay the age relevant price, although their helper does go free.
However, if Sky Blues fans want to pay on the day, all tickets go up by £2. That’s £28 to watch third-tier football.
It isn’t as though Peterborough are ripping off away supporters either; their prices are similar for home fans making them a very expensive side to watch. For some clubs, the pricing is about in line with their own but plenty of League One sides are not used to paying such big sums for an afternoon watching football.
Knowing that there is a surcharge for paying on the day is the final straw for some of these supporters, as you’ll read below.
An increase? They’re already the most expensive tickets in league!

If we only charge the Peterborough fans £20 when they come to us we are mugs x

It's a lot, but the concourse & stand is best in the league imo. Kids prices ok too. Sba will pay it anyway!

Seems people are voting with their feet with this then due to the price.🤔

Will hit 1500 but poor for us with prices at £26. Clearly people not paying out of principle.
