Southend United slumped to their tenth league defeat of a disastrous campaign on Saturday as fellow League One strugglers Wimbledon inflicted a heavy 4-1 defeat on the hapless Shrimpers at Roots Hall.
in-form Dons striker Marcus Forss did most of the damage with a hat-trick, leaving the Essex outfit second bottom with only four points from their opening twelve games and a shocking goal difference of minus twenty-three.
These are dark times for the club, with strong rumours in the local press that Celtic legend Henrik Larsson is set to take the managers job not impressing many fans who feel the club is already dommed and will be playing in League Two next season.
Talksport pundit Chris IIwelumo has already called the potential appointment a stunt and questioned why the club is not looking at a manager with League One experience, and when fans took to social media to react to the result, many felt whoever took the job was on a hiding to nothing.
Some fans criticised owner Ron Martin for dragging his feet over the appointment and most seemed utterly exasperated by the state of the club.
