‘Legend,’ ‘Love it’ – These Ipswich Town fans react to popular player’s latest social media comments

Ipswich Town continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought win at Fleetwood Town on Saturday to remain top of League One.

Kayden Jackson’s fifty-eighth-minute strike was enough to give the Tractor Boys all three points and maintain their impressive run.

It was certainly not all plain sailing for Paul Lambert’s men with Fleetwood giving them a tough examination, but they came through a severe test of their promotion credentials with flying colours, much to the delight of striker James Norwood, who took no time in taking to social media to revel in the result.

The atmosphere had been stoked up before the match after Fleetwood boss Joey Barton said he felt this was the worst group of players to have represented Ipswich for some time. He also remarked that his Fleetwood team was perhaps the best in the club’s history and Norwood took great pleasure in referring to these controversial comments when posting his post-match reaction on Twitter.

Norwood is taking the opportunity of the international break to have a minor operation on a long-standing groin problem, and Ipswich fans soon responded to the tweet by wishing him all the best for his recovery, once again illustrating what a popular player he’s quickly become at Portman Road.

Town fans obviously love his social media shenanigans judging by the reaction to the tweet, with many already bestowing legend status on the forward, who’s scored five goals in eleven games so far following his summer move from Tranmere Rovers.

Norwood’s WWF themed goal celebration GIFs recently went viral after catching the eye of wrestling legend The Rock, leading to the striker taking part in a charity wrestling event.

Here is a small selection of responses by Ipswich supporters to the latest tweet by the fans favourite.
