Sunderland drew yet another game at the weekend, their eighteenth 1-1 draw under Jack Ross.
It was a bitterly disappointing day for Sunderland’s 4000 strong travelling support who made their way to Bolton hoping for a win against a side that hasn’t taken three points for one hundred and seventy-five days, but they had to wait until the ninety-second minute for a McGeady penalty to level Jack Hobbs’ opener.
Chants of ‘Sacked in the morning’ rung out from the away end as the Black Cats huffed and puffed but failed to win a match many supporters felt should have been a foregone conclusion after Bolton’s poor start to the season.
The hostile atmosphere spilt over on to social media after the game with the position of manager Jack Ross looking increasingly untenable.
Sunderland fans did not hold back in expressing their desire for the club to sack Ross, with Sunderland sitting fifth in the League One table.
Here is a small selection of the hostile reaction aimed at Ross after the match on Twitter.
Bye Jack- you will NOT be missed! Should have gone after possibly the worst performance by any team at the new wembley in the play-off final

Get him gone. Was a huge fan of him from his time up here, and was delighted to see him get the job, and despite our poor ending to last season I wanted him to be given another chance, but he really doesn’t have a clue. Embarrassing.

Been against sacking but after this week Ross has got to go. Not good enough

Embarrassing. Some of us have to go to real jobs and want a club to be proud of to take the edge off. When are we getting that back

The swathes of empty seats on Saturday will show Stewart Donald that something needs to be done
