Bolton Wanderers are expected to have a busy deadline day as they look to rebuild a squad decimated by the club’s recent financial troubles and one target appears to be Nottingham Forest midfielder Liam Bridcutt.
Now under new ownership after the takeover by Football Ventures was eventually completed last week, Bolton are set to sign the thirty-year-old according to the Nottingham Post.
Guardian journalist Daniel Taylor has also tweeted a move to Bolton is on the cards for Bridcutt who is desperately out of favour at the City Ground.
As per @nottmtails earlier, Arvin Appiah from #NFFC to Almeria is going through. Initial fee of £8m, with add-ons. Also heard Bolton Wanderers – after everything they have been through – are starting the business of building a new squad. Liam Bridcutt joining on loan. #BWFC

He’s made just thirty-one appearances for Forest since joining from Leeds United in 2017. Indeed, he’s not played in the Tricky Trees first-team in almost a year.
New Bolton boss Keith Hill is now ready to offer the experienced campaigner a route back to first-team football with a loan move set to be completed today according to the report.
Our View
A decent signing if Bridcutt recaptures the form that he’s showed at various times in his career at big clubs such as Leeds and Sunderland.
He also enjoyed a decent spell at Brighton and will bring a wealth of EFL experience to Hill’s fledgeling squad.
He’s lost his way at Forest so a drop-down League One would benefit all parties to the deal and allow him to start playing regularly again.
A decent bit of business by Bolton if it comes off.
