‘He’s got the worst attitude in pro football’ – Plenty of fans react as struggling Oldham announce new signing

Oldham Athletic have made a signing this afternoon, bringing in former Manchester City winger Dominic McHale on a one-year deal.

That sounds like a grand move, but Mchale was on the books of the Blues as a youth, leaving in 2014. Still only 23-years-old, he’s had a number of clubs and has struggled to settle with any of them.

He began his senior career with Barnsley, going out on loan to Northwich Flixton Villa before a move to Ramsbottom United. From there he went to Northwich Victoria, Northwich Manchester Villa and Cypriot side Achyronas Liopetriou where he bagged three goals in ten matches.

That earned him a switch to Salford City, where after just three outings, he ended up on loan at Hyde and Trafford. He’s since played for Southport, Ashton United and FC United of Manchester.

Despite having no Football league experience, he’s been a part of the Latics’ squad throughout pre-season and also travelled to Morocco for their pre-season training camp.

It’s fair to say that supporters are not dancing in the streets with this signing, instead they’re turning to Twitter with increasing sarcasm and disappointment.
