Bolton Wanderers are still hopeful of completing a deal with Football Ventures before the 5pm deadline, as reported by Bolton News journalist Marc Iles.
The Trotters face the threat of expulsion and liquidation if a deal is not reached. That’s the belief of administrator Paul Appleton, as we reported yesterday.
The takeover collapsed last week after a single signature was missed off a piece of paper, or so is the claim, but it’s not been as simple to revive. However, Iles is reporting that there is confidence the work can be done ahead of the deadline in just under two hours, but that they may spill over after the 5pm limit.
“Key players are still optimistic that they can repair the Football Ventures bid, although I expect it will go beyond the 5pm EFL deadline,” he tweeted.
He also issued a cautionary note; “No time left to point fingers. Needs sorting.”
That’s in direct relation to Ken Anderson’s comments that he was not to blame for the hold up. He’s the villain of the hour in the eyes of Bolton fans as his tenure is the one that ran them into the ground. Supporters have reacted in large numbers to Iles’ update, as you’ll see below.

So now another 2 weeks of torture to endure, this will string out for another 2 weeks.
Every Fan is sick of the situation for the last 3 years with Anderson.
I think the Administrator should get this resolved with a Court order overruling Anderson Lawyers and giving permission for the sale of the club to be completed.
I will personally send a email to the Administrators of BWFC suggesting the course of action so it leaves the Davies Trust and Anderson lawyer to sort out between them separately in Court.
I see no reason in the interests of BWFC future why this cannot be applied.
