Bradford City have won the race to sign Peterborough midfielder Callum Cooke according to an exclusive report by Teamtalk.com.
The report claims the twenty-two-year-old midfielder has agreed on a season-long loan deal with the Bantams.
Cooke signed a two-year deal with Posh last summer following his arrival from Middlesborough for an undisclosed fee. He made twenty outings in 2018/19, but he’s fallen out of favour at London Road since Darren Ferguson took over the managerial reins from Steve Evans.
The former England Under-18 international knows Bradford boss Gary Bowyer well, having enjoyed a successful loan spell under him at Blackpool in 2017/18, scoring two goals in thirty-four appearances.
The report claims Cook is in Yorkshire undertaking a medical today with a view to the signing being announced before the weekend after Peterborough decided to make him available for loan.
Our View
Cooke is an excellent young player who thrived under Bowyer previously and Bantams fans should be excited about this signing if the report is accurate.
The constant churning of Peterborough’s squad continues to benefit other clubs, and we feel Cooke could be a very astute piece of business by Bowyer.
Bradford are looking good at the moment, and Cooke will be another excellent addition.
