Bradford City are keen on Blackpool midfielder Jamie Devitt but face competition for his signature according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Nixon is usually a reliable source of transfer information, and he’s tweeted the revelation today.

Devitt only joined the Tangerines on a free transfer this summer after he rejected the offer of a new deal from Carlisle United. Previous Seasiders manager Terry McPhillips signed him, and he doesn’t appear to have impressed new boss Simon Grayson who recently hinted Devitt could be one of several new players that were already facing the Bloomfield Road exit door.
The much-travelled attacking midfielder scored twelve goals for League Two Carlisle United in thirty-eight appearances across all competitions last season. He arrived at Brunton Park from Morecambe in 2016, and he previously enjoyed a loan spell at Valley Parade while he was beginning his career as a Hull City player.
He made eight outings for the Bantams in 2011, one of several club’s he played for on loan during his four-year stay with the Tigers.
Our View
Sometimes a new manager does not fancy a player, and that appears to be the case with Grayson and Devitt.
Most Carlisle fans would have him back in a heartbeat but boss Steven Pressley has already ruled a return for the fans favourite and Carlisle’s players’ player of the season in each of the past two campaigns.
If Bradford beat off the competition and get him, they will have secured an excellent player and boosted their promotion challenge by adding goals and creativity to their midfield.
