Wigan chasing Coventry City transfer target

Wigan are one of several Championship clubs chasing Coventry City summer transfer target Bright Enobakhare according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Nixon is often a reliable source of transfer information, and he’s tweeted Wolves are receiving late deadline day interest in the forward from Championship sides.

The news is a blow for Coventry City who’ve been trying to sign the twenty-one-year-old since he enjoyed an eye-catching loan spell with the Sky Blues in the second half of last season.

Coventry tabled a bid in excess of £600,000 to try and land the exciting youngster on a permanent deal but have so far failed in their attempts to lure their top summer transfer target.

Birmingham City have also recently been linked with Enobakhare who signed a one-year contract extension with Wolves following his impressive spell at Coventry.

Recent reports suggest Wolves are keen to extend this further and continue to monitor his development with a new loan move the prefered option.

Our View

Enobakhare is an exciting talent and probably too good for League One at this stage of his development.

The bad news for Coventry fans is we expect him to be at a Championship club by the end of the day.
