Boost for Orient as influential defender set to sign a new deal

Josh Coulson is set to sign a new deal at Leyton Orient as reported by Football Insider.

The central defender is entering the final year of his contract at Brisbane Road, and a club source has told reporter Pete O’Rourke he’s in advanced talks to sign a new two-year deal.

The news will be a welcome boost for the League Two newcomers. Coulson was an influential member of the side that won the National League last term, making forty-two appearances and contributing an impressive seven goals.

He initially joined the O’s on loan from Cambridge in the summer of 2017 before making the move permanent the following January. He’d been at the Abbey for eight years having emerged through the club’s youth system. He went on to make over two hundred and fifty outings for U’s before leaving for East London.

According to the report, an agreement with the vastly experienced thirty-year-old is imminent.
