Blackpool are eying a move for Blackburn striker Joe Nuttall as reported by Football Insider yesterday.
The report claims a source at the Seasiders has told them that boss Simon Grayson has made the 22-year-old a transfer target as he looks to bolster his forward ranks before the start of the season.
Nuttall’s moved further down the Rovers pecking order following the recent arrival of Sam Gallagher from Southampton and boss Tony Mowbray could be willing to let him move on according to reporter Pete O’Rourke.
The speculation was given further legs this morning when journalist Alan Nixon tweeted confirmation there was some truth in the Football Insider story, with Blackpool offering decent money for the striker’s services. Nixon, usually a reliable source of transfer information, then suggests Blackburn would be willing to sell should the fee match their expectations.

The young striker was only used as a backup to the first-team last season, making fifteen Championship appearances, of which only two were starts.
In total the former Man City trainee has managed eight goals from thirty-seven outings since joining Rovers from Aberdeen in 2017. He’s failed to establish himself in Mowbray’s first-team plans after an excellent start to his career at Ewood Park saw him sign a three and a half year contract extension in January 2018.
Our View
Nuttall would be a fantastic signing for Blackpool.
He is still quite raw but holds the ball up well, and he’s got an eye for goal.
Many Blackburn fans feel it would be a mistake by Mowbray to let the striker go permanently and that a season-long loan would be the better option.
However, most Rovers do seem to agree that the player has the ability and talent to be a significant force in League One next season if he does indeed end up at Bloomfield Road.
