AFC Wimbledon have signed West Ham United goalkeeper Nathan Trott on a season-long loan deal.
The highly-rated ‘keeper recently signed a new three-year contract with the Hammers and Wimbledon boss Wally Downes used his contacts at West Ham’s academy to beat off competition from several other clubs and convince the twenty-year-old to sign for the Dons.
Downes previously worked on the coaching staff at West Ham.
Bermuda born Trott joined the Hammers back in 2016 after being recommended by Clyde Best, a Bermudian striker who previously played for West Ham in the 1970s. He has been a regular for West Ham Under-23s and played in the EFL Trophy. The young prospect has represented England Under-20s on six occasions and was recently included in the Three Lions squad for the Under-21 Toulon tournament.
It was not only West Ham supporters who took to Twitter to congratulate Trott on his move. West Ham’s England international Declan Rice posted his regards and praise for the ‘keeper only adding to Wimbledon fans excitement.

Take care of him for us! He’s set to be our starter (hopefully) in a few years time. Glad he’ll be on loan here where he’ll hopefully get a lot of minutes at the senior level!

Great signing for Nathan and Wimbledon. He's a great prospect. He'll replace Fabianski in a couple of years.

Very good keeper and won PL2 save of the season award too.
Finally he gets his chance at league football, good luck to all ⚒️

Excellent move – a great player by all accounts and going to a club where he'll learn a lot on and off the pitch. Look after him for us and send him back ready for the first team! It's the least you can do after last season…. 😫
