Huddersfield Town leading the race to sign in-demand Forest Green star

Huddersfield Town are leading the race to sign Forest Green Rovers playmaker Reece Brown as reported by the Sun on Sunday.

The report claims the Terriers are at the front of the queue to land the outstanding young playmaker, beating off stiff competition for his signature from Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in the process.

Brown enjoyed a fantastic season for Forest Green as they reached the League Two playoffs in only their second season in the EFL.

The twenty-three-year-old contributed eleven goals and fifteen assists in a standout campaign that saw him included in the 2019 PFA League Two Team of the Season.

The former Birmingham City youth product can operate effectively in an attacking midfield position or more advanced role.

Recent Reports claimed that Bristol City were also eyeing a move for Brown, but it now appears he may be close to making a move to Huddersfield.

Brown is out of contract this summer but would still command a fee due to his age.

The midfielder left Birmingham City for Forest Green in 2017 and has since made ninety-four appearances for the Nailsworth based outfit.

Our View

I have little doubt Brown will flourish in Championship level football.

He has all the attributes to play at a higher level.

Brown’s progress is an excellent example of a struggling young player dropping down the leagues to successfully kick start their career.

Brown was going nowhere at Birmingham, but his talent has shone through in Gloucestershire, and he looks on to be on the verge of going back to the Championship older, wiser and a far better player.

He might not be a signing that fires the imagination of Huddersfield fans but trust me, if the report s accurate they will have signed an outstanding young player.
