Gillingham have secured the signing of Glasgow Rangers man Lee Hodson on a two-year deal, as revealed by their official club website.
The Northern Ireland international had been heavily linked with a return to St Mirren, but instead Steve Evans has moved quickly to bring him to the League One outfit.
The 27-year-old had been on loan with the Buddies last season, but opted against remaining in Scotland to join up with Gillingham and their new management duo of Evans and Paul Raynor.
Hodson, capped 24 times by his country, has previously spent time with both Watford and MK Dons, as well as loan spells at Brentford and Kilmarnock.
He becomes the club’s third signing, joining Connor Ogilvie and Jack Bonham who have signed in the last couple of weeks.
Speaking to the club’s official website Lee said: “I’m looking forward to getting started; it’s a club that has ambitions and I want to be a part of it.
“It’s a nice family club; I’m delighted to be here and I can’t wait to meet the lads and get started.”
Naturally, Gills supporters have been expressing their delight on social media, whilst Rangers supporters have also been delivering positive opinions on the defender.
