A trio of Crawley Town youngsters are on the radar of an unnamed Championship club as reported by the Crawley & Horley Observer.
The paper claims a second-tier club want youngsters Panutche Camara, David Sesay and Ashley Nathaniel-George for £1.3million and have been in contact with the Sussex outfit.
Camera, twenty-two, made fifty appearances for Crawley last season and was a standout performer in a disappointing campaign. He signed from non-League Dulwich Hamlet in 2017 was subject of rumours linking him with a move to Portugal in May 2018.
Twenty-year-old defender David Sesay made twenty-one appearances and was the subject of speculation linking him to West Bromwich Albion in February this year. The versatile former Watford youngster was thought to be valued at around £350,000 according to the Sun who claimed a host of clubs were tracking his progress.
Twenty-four-year-old Nathaniel-George signed from non-league Hendon in June 2018 and has scored six goals in thirty-five appearances for the Red Devils.
Our View
If the report is accurate, Crawley should take the money and sell without a second thought.
All three players do have some potential but have hardly set League Two alight, Crawley finished nineteenth in 2018/19.
Sesay is probably the pick of the trio and WBA links I can understand.
With that sort of money at his disposal, Gabrielle Cioffi could mount a serious rebuilding job of his squad.
It will be interesting to see if this story develops.
