“Our most consistent performer this season” – These Bradford City fans were delighted with their on-loan midfielder v Walsall

Bradford City continued their renaissance this weekend with a huge 4-0 win against Walsall.

The Bantams had been League One’s crisis club and whilst there’s a long way still to go, they do appear to have turned a corner. Their destructive chairman has been ousted and manager David Hopkin is restoring a certain pride to the team.

They leapfrogged Bristol Rovers yesterday to go as high as third from bottom, but are just three points off safety now. At one point they appeared to be dead and buried after gutless displays and their ownership troubles, but finally their loyal fans can start returning to the Valley with pride.

One player who has been impressing is on loan midfielder Lewis O’Brien, a 20-year old on the books of Huddersfield Town. He took to Twitter to express his own delight at the performance.

He took the Man of the Match award on the club’s official Twitter page after turning in a competent and mature display to help drive his adopted side forward.

Whilst they’re not entirely out of the woods, a win against Scunthorpe United next weekend would see them on the cusp of getting out the bottom four. Manage that and they won’t look back.

O’Brien’s performance also drew the praise of many of the Bradford City supporters, as we’ve sampled below.
