1st Forest Green Rovers

The numbers are skewed a little as Nailsworth, home of Forest Green Rovers, is little more than a village. Once upon a time the club were as big as their location, but since Dale Vince’s money has brought them alive, they’ve grown.
It could be argued their alternative existence, the sustainability and constant media focus has helped but the truth is losses of £2.5m year on year have acted as a catalyst for the growth too.
They may not be the fairy tale that mainstream media believe, but with attendances of 2,593 and a population of just 5,794, Forest Green are the best supported club by percentage of population, with 44.8% of the village following them.
We hear the pub shuts from 3pm until 5.45pm on a Saturday because there’s nobody left to run it.
