With just three points from nine games, the last thing Plymouth Argyle need at the moment is an injury problem, but that is exactly what is happening at Home Park.
Captain Gary Sawyer is due for a lay off at present, but Ryan Taylor is the latest to bring a problem to the manager’s door.
The Pilgrims’ striker started the first two league games this term, then added a further seven appearances as a substitute after being dropped by Adams in favour of Freddie Ladapo up front.
However, Taylor was among a long list of injured players for their 2-1 defeat away to Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
“He has had a scan and we are just waiting now for the consultant to come back with the report on it,” Adams told Plymouth Live. “It looks like a recurrence of the injury that he had before. It is the same ankle.”
“Obviously, it’s a concern because he has missed a lot of game-time. When you have a squad you don’t want your players to pick up recurring injuries. It is a concern.”
Our View
Plymouth are in a lot of trouble already. They’re struggling to impress themselves on games and their options are reduced severely with the raft of injuries.
Adams will get time, but they need to show some improvement very soon.
