Crawley make their first signing of the post-Kewell era

Crawley have signed 28-year old centre-back Bondz N’Gala on a short-term contract, following his release from Dagenham last season.

Crawley, who lost manager Harry Kewell to League Two rivals Notts County on Friday morning, bring the big defender in on an initial one-month deal.

He spent last season with Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League, but has made over 250 senior appearances for clubs including Plymouth, Yeovil, Leyton Orient, Portsmouth and Barnet.

he started out as a youngster at West Ham United, but has led a nomadic life since, with Crawley his 15th club, including loans.

Crawley Town caretaker boss Filipe Morais said: “He offers us a big physical presence.”

Our View

Life is about to get very tough for the Red Devils, and N’Gala is at least a big lump at the back who can offer some power and presence.

How they fare over the coming weeks will be intriguing to say the least, but with the big man at the back they’ll at least have a fighter, albeit a rather limited one in terms of ability.
