Lincoln City manager Danny Cowley has secured the services of Derby County midfielder Kellan Gordon on loan until January.
20-year old Gordon has previously spent time in League Two with Swindon Town, where he made 31 appearances, scoring four times.
Prior to moving to the County Ground, he made his first-team debut for the Rams as a substitute in the Carabao Cup Round One tie at Grimsby Town last August, when he replaced Mason Bennett.
Gordon is versatile and can not only operate on either side of midfield, but also at right back. He’s been given the squad number ‘2’ at Sincil Bank.
He is available to play in Lincoln’s Carabao Cup second round match against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park this evening, having not played for Derby in their first round match against Oldham Athletic.
5ft 10in Gordon started out as an apprentice with Stoke City, but picked up his first professional contract with the Rams in 2015.
Our View
Gordon is highly rated in many circles and had been touted as one who might break through at Pride Park this season. He didn’t feature in their Carabao Cup first round match at Oldham and he’s now seeking his football elsewhere.
Lincoln are top of League Two, clear of Mk Dons and Exeter City, whom they face on Saturday.
