Scunthorpe United are in serious danger of completely imploding, with a 5-0 hammering at home to Fleetwood the latest blow to befall the north Lincolnshire club.
Having flirted with the play offs last year, the Iron are now struggling to find any sort of rhythm. their 5-0 defeat means they’ve conceded eight in two game, without reply. They’re out of the Carabao Cup too, beaten by Doncaster.
Only an opening day win against Coventry stands between them and the bottom of the League One table.
No supporter should see his side beaten 5-0 at home, least of all by a side managed by Joey Barton, with Ched Evans scoring a brace. The controversial pair are both well along the road of redemption having been in trouble with authorities in the past for various reasons, but there’s no redemption for Scunthorpe United right now.
They’re poor at the back, limp up front and a million miles away from a top six finish. The Fleetwood result has been labelled as embarrassing, with calls for manager Nick Daws to go now before things get worse.
At the rate their going, they could be a serious contender for relegation, which is a point echoed by some of their fans on Twitter this evening.
Unreal taking off humphreys destroyed any remaining ounce of credibility draws had. Sacked in the morning
