The stadium has been wholly redeveloped since 1987, coming on the back of the Bradford Fire Disaster in 1985. The first stand to be developed was the eastern stand on the St Andrews side. However, as the club dropped out of the Football League in 1987, it was scaled back and is now home to the club offices, media area, and other functional aspects.

Next to be developed was the Railway End, now known as the Stacey West End. it’s named after two supporters who lost their life at Bradford, Bill Stacey and Jim West.It was once the home end, but now houses away supporters.

The South Park End of the ground is all-seater and houses the club’s corporate boxes. To the rear of the stand is a bar, and since 2017/18, a vibrant fan zone that allows supporters to mingle and buy food and drink on a match day.

The newest stand is the GBM Stand, once known as the West Bank. It opened in March 1995 and houses 5,700 supporters, more than half of those in the ground. It was built as an all-seater stand but recently had rail seating installed in Block 7, where the 617 Squadron goes on a match day.

Updates on LNER Stadium

LNER Stadium is currently undergoing notable updates aimed at improving the fan experience and expanding its role in the local community. In 2023, redevelopment began on the Stacey West Stand as part of a £2.5 million project. This upgrade includes a new Community Skills & Education Hub, which will enable the Lincoln City Foundation to broaden its social initiatives. The project also involves essential infrastructure improvements, such as enhanced water and power supplies, alongside a modern pitch irrigation recycling system.

Additionally, plans included safe standing areas in the Stacey West Stand and a section of the GBM Stand. These developments were anticipated to be completed by the summer of 2024, increasing stadium capacity and making it a more inclusive, community-centered venue. The finishing touches to certain areas are being done as of Autumn 2024.
