Luton Town play host to Lee Grant’s Huddersfield Town at Kenilworth Road in League One as both sides look to get another crucial three points on the board.
Our Three Predictions for Luton Town vs Huddersfield Town
- First Prediction: Huddersfield Town to win – 21/10
- Second Prediction: Over 2.5 goals to be scored – 9/10
- Third Prediction: Both teams to score – 8/11
First Prediction for Luton Town vs Huddersfield Town – Huddersfield Town to win – 21/10
Whilst both sides are in good form coming into this game, Luton did suffer a big blow away from home last weekend, losing 5-0 against Barnsley at Oakwell. The weekend before that, they were held to a goalless draw against Rotherham United after winning three back-to-back games. Their opponents, Huddersfield, are on a similar vein of form, winning their last three league games after suffering five consecutive defeats in all competitions.
Interestingly, despite sitting mid-table and within just four points of the play-off spots, Luton have one of the worst home records in the division, picking up 10 points from a possible 21 at Kenilworth Road this season. Whilst the visitors have picked up the same amount of points on their travels, their record is the joint sixth-best in the league.
Whilst the Hatters have done better since the new manager, Jack Wilshere, took over at the club, the fact that they have a poor home record, mixed with the fact that they suffered a heavy defeat last Saturday, alongside playing a good team, who have something to play for, may mean that the away side come out on top in this clash.

Second Prediction for Luton Town vs Huddersfield Town – Over 2.5 goals to be scored – 9/10
One thing Lee Grant’s side have proved they can do very well is stick the ball in the back of the net. However, they also aren’t the best defensively, with both themselves and Luton conceding 20 goals in 16 games.
On average, both sides score above one goal per game; the hosts’ record sits at 1.12 goals per game, whilst the Terriers’ record is 1.60 goals per game. Whilst their goal-scoring records are good, both sides’ average for goals conceded also sits above one, Luton conceding 1.25 goals per game in the 16 games they have played, with their opponents conceding 1.33 goals per game in the 15 games they’ve played in the third tier.
In their last five games alone, the Hatters have conceded nine, including five last weekend, and have scored 10. Huddersfield’s record in their last five is slightly better, conceding eight and scoring 10 as well.
Based on the stats, it’s clear this game tomorrow evening is going to be a high-scoring affair between two sides comfortable in front of goal but not when it comes to defending.
Third Prediction for Luton Town vs Huddersfield Town – Both teams to score – 8/11
Whilst it’s fair to say that the Hatters haven’t had the best start to the league season after back-to-back relegations, they’ve very rarely failed to score in a game, not scoring in just four games in all competitions this season. However, they’ve rarely kept clean sheets, keeping just five this season.
For the visitors, they’ve failed to score in just three league games, and have kept six clean sheets, but only one of these have come in the last three months, against Exeter City in a 1-0 win.
It’s not surprising to see both sides backed to score in this clash.

Full Preview of the Game – Last Results and Head-To-Head
As mentioned above, both sides enter this game on decent form, with the hosts winning three of their last five, but also suffering two losses, including a 5-0 defeat to Barnsley last weekend. Huddersfield have won their last three league games.
With the League One table so tight at the top, three points could prove vital for each side, the hosts able to potentially climb up to seventh, whilst the Terriers could move into the play-off spots if Stevenage, who play Peterborough United, fall to defeat.
Since 2019, these sides have faced each other 10 times, all 10 of which have come in the Championship, including the Championship play-off semi-finals in 2022. Last time these sides met was in 2023, with Luton picking up all three points away from home in a 2-1 win, with goals from Amari Bell and Reece Burke ruling out Duane Holmes’ equaliser. This was the season the Hatters were promoted to the Premier League.
