Port Vale vs Wycombe Wanderers: Prediction, Lineups, Odds and Betting Tips

Our 3 Predictions for Port Vale vs Wycombe Wanderers

  • 1st Prediction : Wycombe Wanderers To Win – 6/4
  • 2nd Prediction : Both Teams To Score – Yes – 17/20
  • 3rd Prediction : Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 23/20

First Prediction For Port Vale vs Wycombe Wanderers – Wycombe Wanderers To Win – 6/4

After 2 wins on the bounce Wycombe Wanderers find themselves in a comfortable mid table position, but looking up instead of down. They only snag in this bet is that they have only won once on their travels this season, that was a month ago at Wigan Athletic, but they have also picked up a draw since then at Blackpool. Port Vale have lost 3 straight games leaving them just one place off the bottom. At home they have recorded just 1 win from 7, but it is hard to see them stopping a fifth loss at Vale Park in this game.

Second Prediction For Port Vale vs Wycombe Wanderers – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 17/20

Vale have only managed 11 goals all season in League 1 this season, and a main contributor to them being so low in the table, and also the current run of 3 losses in which they have not scored at all while conceding 8. This will encourage their visitors even more as they come off the back of a fine 4-1 win over Leyton Orient. The fact that Wycombe are quite free scoring, with 22 league goals, is a bonus as they also have let in 17, and that door being left open means that Port Vale, desperate for any positives, could well add to their lowly total of goals.

Third Prediction For Port Vale vs Wycombe Wanderers – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 23/20

With both teams needing the points for differing reasons, they will be out for goals. Port Vale only have 5 at home so far, and the home support will have to get behind their team if they are to add to that. But with Wycombe’s defence being a little suspect with 9 conceded in 7 away days, this does offer some hope. With Wycombe on a 2 game win streak they are hot in front of goal with 7 goals in those wins, and with a 22 overall they are odds on to add to that, but only 6 of those have been away from home, but carrying current momentum into this match they should continue their fine form in front of goal.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results and Head to Head

After dropping 3 games on the spin it is a worrying time for Darren Moore’s Port Vale. No goals in those losses and 8 shipped past them it is a slide that needs arresting. A visit by in form Wycombe may make things worse, but then the tide has to turn some time, so why not in this game. Well. with only 1 home win so far, it will take a lot of positive vibes from the stands to help, as well as better play by the defence, as well as getting Devante Cole back amongst the goals. He tops the Vale scorers list with 4, and the 30 year old also has one assist, so there is no doubt he will be the one to watch in attack. At the back Connor Hall will have to be better and use his experience to guide his teammates out of this slump, or it could be another long afternoon for Australian goalkeeper Joe Gauci.

It has taken a while but it seems that Michael Duff has finally found a winning formula for Wycombe Wanderers. In a mid table position they can start to look ahead and not down, as 2 convincing wins has given them a new confidence. Luke Leahy has been the driving force in midfield and even though he has yet to score, the 32 year old has 5 assists, so his playmaking will be something Port Vale will have to cover. Up front Fred Onyedinma has impressed with 5 goals, and has a great partnership with Sam Bell who is just one behind on 4 strikes. The defence has improved of late, with Jack Grimmer looking good and always one of the team sheet.
