Rotherham United vs Swindon Town: Prediction, Lineups, Odds and Betting Tips

Our 3 Predictions for Rotherham United vs Swindon Town

  • 1st Prediction : Swindon Town To Win – 19/10
  • 2nd Prediction : Both Teams To Score – Yes – 8/13
  • 3rd Prediction : Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 3/4

First Prediction For Rotherham United vs Swindon Town – Swindon Town To Win – 19/10

Swindon Town may have dipped a little bit in form on the road in recent weeks, just 1 win in 3, and overall they are without a win in 4. This though is the FA Cup and a great leveller. Flying high in League 2 Town will be out to cause a little upset here, although for some it will not be that way. Rotherham are on a good run of form, and at home have won 3 straight, so will not be a pushover. The odds are likely ton be only as high as this as the visitors are in a lower league, but don’t let that fool you.

Second Prediction For Rotherham United vs Swindon Town – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 8/13

With both sides playing well currently they are scoring goals regularly too. Rotherham have bagged 10 in their last four home games, while letting in 6. Overall they have won their last 5 games, getting 11 goals, while conceding 5. Swindon are on a blip given their good start, but have still manages 11 goals on their last 6 away days. Overall they have scored 7 in the last 6 games, this despite not winning in the last 4, while conceding 9, so it is fair to say both teams should find the net, in what is after all a chance to get away from league football and start a Cup run.

Third Prediction For Rotherham United vs Swindon Town – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 3/4

As the statistics show above there should be no shortage of goal action in the Cup tie. Both have a more than decent chance of scoring, while also being a little suspect the back, which could see a large amount of goal opportunities. United are averaging 2 goals a game over their last four outings, and all it needs is Swindon to chip in with a goal and the bet is done. And that should not be a problem for a team that also scores with ease. If they keep up 7 in last 6 ratio they are good value, but expect them to come out firing in this one and cause a minor upset, so this is decent value.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results and Head to Head

After picking up some decent results in the last month Rotherham United will feel good coming into this FA Cup tie. Manager Matthew Hamshaw has his players’ confidence high and there is no reason why they will not be just that in this match. However, they will have to be prepared as Swindon Town will come into this game also confident, despite a poor run of no win in 4. 33 year old Jordan Hugill is leading the line, but with only 2 goals in his twelve appearances so far, his output will need to improve. Kian Spence and Daniel Gore will be industrious in midfield but again with only 1 goal between them an improvement is needed. At the back Irishman Joe Rafferty is playing the most consistently and he may well be busy in this game, so will need to be on top form once more.

Since Ian Holloway took over last season Swindon Town have made big improvements all around the pitch. The no nonsense style even had them making a late playoff charge which eventually fell short, but the signs were there, and they have carried on since. A run of 4 games without a win will be a concern but a chance to break away from the rigours of league football, and an adventure in the FA Cup could be just what is needed. Aaron Drinan has reached double figures, his 10 goals with 1 assist have led the way, and he will be a real handful for any team, even one in a higher league such as their opponents in this game. 12 other players have hits goals, but only 2 have scored more than once. Will Wright is a mainstay in defence, his 11 appearances with 1 goal and 1 assist means he is one of the first on Holloway’s team sheet each week. Gavin Kilkenny is another that also sees his name called on a regular basis, and the Irishman is one of the key Town players in midfield.
