Bolton Wanderers head coach Steven Schumacher has piled the praise on ‘main man’ Amario Cozier-Duberry ahead of their FA Cup first round clash against Huddersfield Town.
The 20-year-old has caught the eye this season after a string of impressive performances at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. He signed for the Trotters on a season-long deal from Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.
Having opted to swap Arsenal for Brighton in 2024, the Seagulls opted to send the winger to Blackburn Rovers on another temporary deal. However, his time at Ewood Park was underwhelming and he played just over 700 minutes of Championship football throughout the campaign.
Bolton Offers Cozier-Duberry Huge Platform
A drop to League One with Bolton followed his time in Lancashire, and Cozier-Duberry has so far risen to the occasion. He has lit up the Toughsheet Community Stadium with a string of excellent showings and has shown he is the man to take the game by the scruff of the neck at crucial times.

Schumacher Predicts Big Future For Attacker
Bolton’s recent upturn in form has seen them move into play-off contention. Back-to-back wins has seen them move up to seventh, just 2 points behind AFC Wimbledon in sixth.
Cozier-Duberry has played a major role in that, having been involved in their last 4 league goals. Speaking ahead of a second meeting with Huddersfield in just over a fortnight, head coach Schumacher was full of praise for the attacker:
“They (Brighton) are really pleased with his progress. He had a loan last year that was OK at Blackburn, it didn’t go unbelievably well but it was experience in the Championship.
“This year where he’s playing every week, he’s becoming the main man, he’s scoring goals for us.
“That’s what Brighton needed from us, to give him that opportunity to shine, and he’s getting that.”

“It’s over to him really. He’s still got loads of areas in his game that he needs to get better at and he understands that.
“Technically, sometimes he can be a little bit scruffy with some of the work that he does. Some of his decision-making will get better the older that he gets and the more experience.
“But he’s got a real chance to go and play at the top because of his enthusiasm for the game, his love for the game and how much he looks like he enjoys it.
“He comes into work every day with a smile on his face and enjoys it, so who knows how far he can go? It’s over to him.
“But if he keeps producing the way he is, I know Brighton are really happy with what we’re doing with him.
“He’s expressing himself, he’s showing everybody how good he is. While he’s in that environment where he’s playing every week and he’s happy, his stock is only going higher so that’s great for both clubs.”
Cozier-Duberry could drop to the bench for Saturday’s FA Cup clash before Bolton return to League One action against Port Vale on November 8th.
