Gillingham vs Salford City: Predictions, Lineups, Odds and Betting Tips

Our 3 Predictions for Gillingham vs Salford City

  • 1st Prediction : Salford City To Win – 17/10
  • 2nd Prediction : Both Teams To Score – Yes – 7/10
  • 3rd Prediction : Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 9/10

First Prediction For Gillingham vs Salford City – Salford City To Win – 17/10

Gillingham have a fairly decent home record with four wins in six games played at Priestfield. They have though in recent games fallen away from the top places, and have not win in five games across all competitions, four in League Two, so the slide does need to stop. However, they host a Salford City side that are a little inconsistent, leading to their ninth place in the table. They do come off the back of a 1-0 win against Oldham Athletic. Their away form is an even split of three wins and losses, but having won got back to winning ways last weekend they may feel the balance tip in their favour given their hosts current bad run.

Second Prediction For Gillingham vs Salford City – Both Teams To Score – Yes – 7/10

Something both have in common is their ability to score, and concede, in fact they are a near match where the latter is concerned and an exact one when it comes to the former. Both have score 18 times, and Gillingham have totalled eight at home. Salford have scored seven away from home. The Gills have let in 12, whereas Salford more with 17. The fact that both are fairly even but with the goals flowing would suggest that both will have a good day in front of their opposing goal.

Third Prediction For Gillingham vs Salford City – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 9/10

Away from home Salford have scored seven, and conceded the same amount. They have only scored once in their last three league games, and that will be a worry, but they do average a goal a game on their travels. If they keep that up, against a somewhat out of sorts Gillingham, then this could be a decent bet. At home Gillingham have scored eight, while being mean with only three let in. This does not show evidence of their recent bad run, but with both wanting to keep pace with the top teams this could mean an open game that will bring goals.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results and Head to Head

The hallmarks of a Gareth Ainsworth team. Work harder, fight for everything, and be ruthless. They have done well so far in the early going, but have just gone off the boil in the last month. The top of the League Two table is still tight, and does show signs that it will be another season where it is too close to call. So, without a win in five they need to get the early season mojo back. Josh Andrews will have to start getting a better return from his two goals in 10 games, and the evergreen Bradley Dack is still ticking over with three goals to his name. At the back Max Clark and Sam Gale are performing well, and Robbie McKenzie has been ever present in midfield.

Karl Robinson will always field a competitive side and even though they have not hit any kind of consistent form yet, they still find themselves within touching distance of the top. A decent run, starting with a hard fought win last week against Oldham, could well continue on the road here at Gillingham. It would be typical to take advantage of their host poor form, and rub salt in their wounds. To do this they will have to be tighter at the back, although not in dire straights they could be better. Adebola Owulo will be key to keeping clean sheets, the 26 year old has been the standout player each week, and has been helped by Luke Garbutt on the back line. In midfield Kadeem Harris is proving a handful and has scored three times with two assists. It is the forward play of Daniel Udoh that is catching the eye though with three goals and a hefty four assists, so could well be the key to success in this game, and beyond.
