Our Three Predictions For Lincoln City vs Stevenage

  • First Prediction: Lincoln City – Draw No Bet – 31/50
  • Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 17/20
  • Third Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals – 23/20

First Prediction For Lincoln City vs Stevenage – Lincoln City – Draw No Bet – 31/50

Prior to the last game, Lincoln were one of the most in-form teams in the EFL. However, they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Exeter City at the LNER Stadium, which was the first time they had lost at home all season. Despite that, it was a performance which merited much more and they will count themselves unlucky not to win, let alone draw.

That aside, the Imps have been formidable in front of their own supporters, beating the likes of Luton Town, Plymouth Argyle and Reading. They also pushed World Champions Chelsea all the way in a 2-1 reverse in the Carabao Cup third round. Still, it is a case of missed opportunities for Michael Skubala’s team. A win over Exeter would have seen them enter this game in second place and a solitary point behind Stevenage.

Alex Revell’s side have been the standout performers in League One this season and currently sit top of the pile. A trio of wins against Exeter, Leyton Orient and Luton mean they are full of confidence and they will view this as a game where they can really lay down the marker for the rest of the division.

Boro have dropped points just twice all season, although both of those game away from the Lamex Stadium. Their only defeat game at the Accu Stadium against Huddersfield Town in August, whilst they could only muster a 1-1 draw at Mansfield Town. Lincoln know they need to win to keep in touch with the automatic promotion places, but protecting your stake with the draw no bet option is the smart choice.

Second Prediction For Lincoln City vs Stevenage – Both Teams To Score – 17/20

Lincoln rank fairly low in this market, with just 45% of their fixtures seeing both teams score. However, that jumps significantly at the LNER Stadium to 67%. The Imps do boast an array of attacking options, with 11 of their 17 league goals having come at home. They’ve only kept a clean sheet once in front of their own supporters though, with that being the 2-0 win over Reading on the opening day.

Stevenage’s past fixtures this season seem to indicate that this prediction is somewhat of a banker, having hit this marker in 80% of their away outings thus far. Only the 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town has fallen short, although this does mean that they have conceded in every trip away from the Lamex Stadium.

Third Prediction For Lincoln City vs Stevenage – Over 2.5 Goals – 23/20

This tip follows a similar pattern to the both teams to score prediction. The pair have only been involved in games with 3 or more goals on 4 occasions each this season, but signs do seem to indicate that this could follow suit.

Half of Lincoln’s home games have achieved this marker, which include 3-1 and 3-2 wins over Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle respectively. They also played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic last month.

As for Stevenage, 60% of their away games have also been goal fests, as seen in their last trip when they won 3-2 at Leyton Orient. With the duo both harbouring promotion ambitions, this could make for a very open game.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Lincoln head into this game hoping to avenge their shock 1-0 loss against Exeter City prior to the international break. It was a game in which they were the vastly superior side only for the Grecians to strike deep into added points to perform the ultimate smash-and-grab.

That was just the second time that the Imps had tasted defeat in the league all season, having lost 2-0 to AFC Wimbledon in early August. However, they did play the majority of that game with 10 men after defender Adam Jackson was sent off in the first half. An 8-game unbeaten run followed, which saw them record impressive wins over the likes of Plymouth Argyle (3-2), Northampton Town (1-0), Luton Town (3-1) and Peterborough United (3-0).

Stevenage have been the shock standout performers in League One this season and currently sit top of League One. Their only defeat of the campaign came with a narrow 1-0 reverse at Huddersfield Town in August, whilst the only other game in which they have dropped points was a 1-1 draw against Mansfield Town last month.

Alex Revell’s team have since recovered from that blip at the One Call Stadium with a trio of wins. This has seen them pick up maximum points against Exeter (2-1), Leyton Orient (3-2) and Luton (2-0).

This is a fixture which has been traditionally low scoring. The last 2 meetings at the LNER Stadium have finished 0-0, whilst Lincoln came away with a narrow 1-0 victory at the Lamex Stadium last season. Stevenage’s last win against the Imps came in 2023, which also finished 1-0. However, Boro haven’t won in Lincolnshire since 2010, in another game that ended 1-0.

Overall, Lincoln edge the head-to-head record, winning 5 of the previous 11 meetings. Stevenage have 3 victories whilst there has been 3 draws.
