1st prediction for Crewe Alexandra vs Swindon Town: Crewe Alexandra to win or draw- 11/50

This is a really exciting match up of two teams towards the higher end of the table. Crewe currently find themselves at the top of the pile at this early stage, remaining unbeaten until their previous game. They’ve turned themselves into a pretty solid League Two side who consistently look to be in contention for promotion. Fans will hope this is the season they realise those ambitions, and with an almost perfect start they’ve set off on the right foot. Lee Bell is a top class manager for the division and has long been coveted by higher divisions but his loyalty looks to be paying off. Despite their loss in the last game, they’ve started well and with home advantage are lkely favourites here. Swindon have started well also, but their two losses and lack of draw sees them just outside the play-off places. Manager Ian Holloway is an experienced figure who has turned the ship around in Wiltshire, and confidence is high that they can continue in the same vein this season and make a go of promotion. This will be a tough away test though, and Crewe are favourites here.

2nd prediction for Crewe Alexandra vs Swindon Town: Over 2.5 goals in the game – 17/20

This is likely to be an entertaining game in front of goal with two strong sides facing off. Both sides have made a strong start in front of goal, with Crewe the joint highest scorers in the division. Swindon are also handy in attack, but their eight goals conceded has stopped them progressing higher up the table. Defensive records will also come into play; Crewe have conceded only three while Swindon have struggled. This, coupled with Crewe’s home advantage and likely dominance of play, may see the away side struggle but they are more than good enough to get on the scoresheet.

3rd prediction for Crewe Alexandra vs Swindon Town: Both teams to score – 17/25

This is a prediction which leads on from the previous one. Both sides are good in front of goal and have plenty to play for with both looking to realise ambitions of promotion. Crewe have scored three times in two matches already this season with last game’s loss to Gillingham the only blank they’ve fired in the league. Swindon have also scored in all but one game with that match the only to feature less than three goals. All the stats point towards an entertaining game with the two teams likely taking comfort from the context as they look to continue their strong starts.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head

This is a massive game at this stage of the season, with two strong sides going head-to-head in a season where both look like they could be fighting at the very top. Crewe have started the season brilliantly while Swindon have done well but nothing spectacular, and will see this as a game to get one over a rival and really show their credentials when it comes to fighting for promotion. Crewe have the expectation of having been near promotion for a couple of season now and will see this season as a great chance to make that step, though their loss against Gillingham in the last game was a slight stumbling block. Swindon started last season dreadfully under Mark Kennedy but Ian Holloway steered them away from danger and into mid-table after an exceptional second half of the season. They have started in a similar vein and a win here will really set out their stall for this campaign.
