First Prediction For Walsall vs Salford City: Match Result – Salford City – 21/10
After a disappointing opening day reverse, Salford City have responded in style with three wins on the trot. An impressive victory at Notts County, following their success at Meadow Lane last term, began this run, with narrow wins over Accrington Stanley and Newport County. That has left them in fourth place in the early League Two table. Walsall, meanwhile, are tucked inside the top half, seeing off Swindon Town on opening day before a loss at Gillingham. That pattern has repeated itself against Barnet and Grimsby Town, giving the Saddlers a return of six points from a possible twelve available. Expect the Ammies to pick up another three points on Saturday lunchtime. [bw_cta_geo_button shortcode_name=cta-geobutton text=’Bet on Salford City To Win’]
Second Prediction For Walsall vs Salford City: Under 2.5 Goals – 7/10
Games involving the Saddlers have followed a very distinct pattern to date. Both wins have been by a scoreline of 2-1, while their two defeats to date in League Two have been decided by a single goal. Salford have similarly had finely balanced encounters, with their three most recent games decided by a single goal. Walsall had no issues scoring last term, but most of their impressive form infront of goal came early in the campaign, though they still ended up as the top scorers in the division. Both finished the year with 54 goals against, so a tight game should be anticipated, perhaps decided by a single goal.
Third Prediction For Walsall vs Salford City: Both Teams To Score – No – 9/10
Only scoring three times in their opening five games across all competitions, Walsall are still struggling to replace the goals of Nathan Lowe from last season. Salford have netted five times thus far, seeing both sides find the target in three of their four League Two matches. The Saddlers edge the head-to-head record, winning six of the twelve encounters to date, with three wins in the last four meetings. Although the last meeting ended in a score draw, it was the first time that result had been achieved in the short history of this fixture. With that in mind, it may only be the visitors who are on target this weekend.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:
The Saddlers’ collapse last season was well-documented throughout English football. A rampant beginning to the campaign had Walsall looking like a near-certainty for promotion from League Two, but the recall of Nathan Lowe in January by Stoke City had a detrimental effect. Even still, their loss of form was quite astounding, failing to win in the entirety of March and April to end all hopes of automatic promotion. A final-day victory at Crewe Alexandra wasn’t enough for Mat Sadler’s outfit to finish in the top three, meaning they instead went into the lottery of the Play-Offs. Two goals in the first half at in-form Chesterfield appeared to kill the tie, eventually seeing off the Spireites in the second leg after a valiant effort from the seventh-place outfit. Walsall progressed to the final, but they came unstuck against AFC Wimbledon thanks to Myles Hippolyte’s low effort in first-half stoppage time. In terms of the current campaign, Walsall have won and lost twice from their opening four games, narrowly exiting the Carabao Cup at the hands of Stoke City on penalties following a goalless draw.
Ahead of another fourth-tier campaign, Walsall have strengthened in all areas. Aden Flint was a marquee signing, bringing plenty of experience to the West Midlands from Mansfield Town, joining Mason Hancock at centre-half, who comes from Airdrieonians. Moving further forward, Vincent Harper (Exeter City) and Courtney Clarke (Eastbourne) add depth in midfield, while Jack Hollman arrives from Macarthur in Australia. Aaron Pressley was a strong pick-up from League One Stevenage, with Ryan Finnigan (Blackpool) also joining from the third tier on loan. Other temporary arrivals are goalkeeper Myles Roberts (Watford), Daniel Cox (Derby County) and Jonny Stuttle (AFC Bournemouth), the latter two joining from the clubs’ U21 sides. Finally, defender Harrison Burke from National League North Chester City rounds off the Saddlers’ incomings to date. In terms of the opposite direction, Liam Gordon has moved on to Port Vale, while Oisin McEntee has also made a step-up with Scottish top-flight Hearts. Douglas James-Taylor has left for Bohemians, with Taylor Allen (Wycombe Wanderers) and David Okagbue (Peterborough United) moving to League One. Donervon Daniels (Oldham Athletic) and Jack Earing (Barrow) have completed moves to Walsall’s fourth-tier rivals.
Salford City could have been the Saddlers’ opposition in the Play-Offs, as they entered the final day in with a shout of a top-seven finish. A strong April period began with two draws against Barrow and Gillingham, building on strong away victories at Bromley and Grimsby Town the month prior. They really put a marker down on a Friday evening against Notts County, putting three past the Magpies away from home, before taking an impressive point against Doncaster Rovers the following midweek. A setback against Accrington Stanley on Good Friday was quickly brushed off with three points in the North-West at Morecambe, before thrashing top seven rivals Colchester United on the penultimate weekend of the season. That meant the Ammies moved into the Play-Off places ahead of the final day, but a comeback draw against already-relegated Carlisle United wasn’t enough. That hangover looked to have continued this year, with an opening day loss to Crewe Alexandra, but three successive wins have proved that notion wrong.
That strong start to the campaign has followed a very impressive summer window, seeing the likes of Jorge Grant (Hearts) and Ollie Turton (Huddersfield Town) move to the Peninsula Stadium. Kadeem Harris was picked up from Carlisle United following relegation, with Mark Howard joining from Wrexham after his well-documented stint with the Red Dragons. Matthew Young is another acquisition in the goalkeeping department, moving from Sunderland on loan, while Jay Bird is an impressive signing from Exeter City at the opposite end of the pitch. He has replaced Marcus Dackers (Kilmarnock) and Conor McAleny (Harrogate Town), while Curtis Tilt has left for Bradford City.
