Truro City On The Up: Season Tciket Sales Soar For Cornish Club

Truro City have reported record-breaking ticket sales ahead of their first-ever season at National League level, with excitement surging ahead of three high-profile home fixtures this month.

The club has already sold 50% of available tickets for their opening trio of home league matches, in what is shaping up to be a landmark moment in Cornish football history.

Truro Riding Wave of Support Ahead of Historic Season

Following their promotion to Step One of the non-League pyramid, Truro City are preparing to welcome York City, Southend United and Boston United to the newly redeveloped ground at Treyew Road.

The opener against York on Saturday, 16 August, will be broadcast live by National League streaming partner DAZN, marking the first time a Cornish club has been featured globally by the media giant. It follows DAZN’s recent involvement with the FIFA Club World Cup, further raising the profile of the fixture.

Southend United’s visit the following Saturday is expected to draw even more interest, with the Shrimpers regarded as the best-supported club in the division. The month concludes with a home clash against Boston United, whose manager Graham Coughlin is a former Plymouth Argyle favourite.

All three clubs bring with them long-standing Football League pedigree, offering Truro’s fans a taste of higher-level competition rarely seen in Cornwall.

Commercial Milestone Reflects Growing Momentum

The ticket surge follows a record-breaking season ticket campaign for the club, and Truro’s head of commercial Rob Butland has urged supporters to act quickly.

“We were expecting strong ticket sales but today’s results have simply blown us away,” Butland said. “To record that level of sale in less than 12 hours shows just how engaged the Cornish sporting public are with the club and the incredible journey it finds itself on currently.”

He added:

“We have gone from being homeless and without a home, to winning National League South and now playing against some big clubs with rich and successful histories. We are anticipating these games to sell out very quickly.”

Fans are now being advised to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment, particularly as demand continues to rise ahead of the televised opener.

Writer’s View

The scale of Truro City’s growth is remarkable. From years of groundsharing uncertainty to National League exposure on a global platform, this is a club seizing its moment. The strong ticket sales reflect more than just curiosity—they show a genuine belief from the local community that Truro can thrive at this level.

If John Askey’s side can match the momentum off the pitch with performances on it, Cornwall could become a real stronghold in the fifth tier.
