Bradford City boss, Graham Alexander, has reportedly unveiled Max Power as the newly-appointed captain of the Bantams. Only signing this summer, the West Yorkshire outfit have already selected the experienced midfielder as their captaincy choice.
Richie Smallwood left the club earlier this window, with the 34-year-old current captain joining Tranmere Rovers on a free deal in the fourth division. Alexander, the former Preston North End player and manager, has named Power as a more familiar League One asset to lead Bradford on the pitch.
In a recent friendly against Middlesbrough, the 31-year-old led the Bantams for the first time on Wednesday. Alexander gave a glowing report on his latest change within the squad, praising the midfielder’s earlier career endeavours with Sunderland and Wigan Athletic. Power has also spent time between 2023 and 2025 abroad with Al Qadasiya in Saudi Arabia and AGF in Denmark.
Power expressed his desire and willingness to lead Bradford in an important League One campaign, having been entrusted by Alexander within two months of signing:
“It is a privilege and honour to be named the captain at a club the size of Bradford City with such incredible supporters.
