Oldham Athletic have confirmed the arrival of winger Jack Stevens from Solihull Moors, with the 24-year-old signing a two-year contract at Boundary Park following an undisclosed transfer.
The move represents a significant step forward for both the player and the club, as Micky Mellon’s side prepares for a fresh push in League Two.
Stevens Steps Up After Back-To-Back Standout Seasons
Stevens arrives off the back of consecutive outstanding campaigns in non-league football. After scoring 17 goals in 42 appearances to help Solihull reach the 2023–24 National League play-off final, he followed up with 14 goals and four assists in 30 outings last term. That consistency in the final third made him a standout figure in the Moors’ attack and drew attention from clubs across the EFL.
The winger began his senior journey with a short loan at Chippenham Town before blossoming at Banbury United. His breakthrough came during their dominant Southern League Central Division title win, where his goals and assists powered them to promotion with a huge points margin. He continued that form into National League North, racking up nine goals and eight assists and eventually earning a move to Solihull Moors.
Now set for his first taste of EFL football, Stevens sees Oldham as the ideal platform to continue his development.
“I’m delighted to be here. This is a club I’ve always admired, and joining now presents a fantastic opportunity for me,” he told the club website. “I believe this is the perfect next step in my career, moving up into the Football League at the right time.”
Manager Micky Mellon, who took charge of Oldham in February 2025, is excited about what Stevens brings to the squad.
“Jack is a fantastic addition to the group. He’s a player with genuine pace, directness, and an eye for goal. He’s the kind of player who can excite the fans and add a new dimension to our squad,” Mellon said.
Oldham are hoping the wide man can inject flair and cutting edge into a side still rebuilding after years of decline, with Stevens’ arrival a clear statement of intent ahead of the 2025–26 season.

Writer’s View
Jack Stevens has earned his move the hard way—climbing from Step 3 to the Football League through sheer end product and relentless drive. His numbers speak for themselves, but more than that, he’s developed the kind of all-round attacking game that EFL defences will struggle with. Micky Mellon is building a squad with bite and ambition, and Stevens fits that profile perfectly.
It’s also notable how many clubs admired him last season—Oldham landing him ahead of others signals the club’s pulling power and renewed focus. If Stevens can translate his non-league output to League Two, the Latics might just have pulled off one of the signings of the summer.
