Oldham Athletic Striker Makes San Antonio Revelation

Oldham Athletic forward Kian Harratt has broken his silence following the circulation of a video showing him throwing a chair that struck a woman on the head during an altercation in Ibiza.

The footage, widely shared on TikTok and other social platforms, appears to show Harratt involved in a confrontation between two groups of people at the Marco Vibra Ibiza hotel in San Antonio. In one video angle, the 22-year-old can be seen picking up a chair and launching it across a pool area, where it hits a woman in the back of the head, causing her to fall to the ground.

Harratt Responds

Harratt, who scored at Wembley in Oldham’s National League play-off final earlier this month, reposted the video to his own TikTok account before issuing a public statement giving his version of events.

According to the striker, the situation escalated after a man was allegedly acting inappropriately towards several young couples. Harratt claimed a friend of his splashed the man with water, prompting a violent response.

“One of my mates splashed the lad with water after he was making people feel uncomfortable. The guy then punched my friend, and I reacted to protect him,” Harratt explained. “A chair was thrown at me, and I threw it back. I didn’t mean to hit the woman. I’m very apologetic and I feel terrible.”

Additional footage released online corroborates parts of Harratt’s account, showing a man throwing a punch at another individual prior to the incident with the chair. Hotel staff can also be seen tending to the injured woman, who remained on the ground following the impact.

A second chair was thrown by another individual moments later, resulting in a separate man being knocked into the pool.

Oldham Athletic have not yet released an official statement regarding the matter, though it is understood the club are aware of the footage. The hotel involved has reportedly issued a comment, though details have yet to be confirmed.

Writer’s View

This is an unwanted and deeply troubling incident for Oldham Athletic just weeks after their Wembley triumph. While Harratt’s emotional defence highlights the complexity of the situation, the footage speaks for itself and raises serious questions about player conduct during the off-season.

Whether disciplinary action follows or not, this will surely be a major test of both the club’s internal protocols and Harratt’s own judgement moving forward. The hope now is that the woman involved is recovering well and that this does not overshadow what had been a promising summer for the Latics.
