Wrexham are looking to add West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell to their squad but faces competition from a Premier League new boy for his signature, as reported by journalist Alan Nixon.
Cresswell bid a fond farewell to the London Stadium faithful during last week’s defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Cresswell Could Remain In Top Flight
According to Nixon, Wrexham are not the only club chasing the former England international’s signature as newly promoted Leeds United have reportedly shown an interest.
Cresswell was part of the Hammers squad that claimed Europa Conference League glory two years ago but is now on the lookout for a new employer to keep his playing career going.
Should the former Ipswich Town man wish to remain in the Premier League, Leeds United would be in pole position for his services.

Red Dragons To Go All Out
Facing Premier League competition for the fullback, Nixon reports Wrexham are willing to offer Cresswell a deal that will surpass that offered by the Elland Road outfit.
The 35-year-old is yet another veteran linked with the Hollywood-owned side after Fulham’s Tom Cairney and Leicester City hero Jamie Vardy have been touted as possible signings.
Location, Location, Location
The Nixon report suggests Wrexham could have the upper hand due to location, as well as game time on offer, and not just the lucrative package they could put together.
Cresswell is a native of Merseyside and is believed to be open to a move to North Wales due to the proximity to home as well as the minutes Cresswell would expect to earn in the second tier.
Writer’s View
Wrexham are, as expected, being linked with a host of players as they embark on their Championship journey so it is no surprise to see them linked to an out-of-contract Premier League defender.
If Cresswell is looking for maximum minutes, then he may believe Wrexham are his best bet but it could be that he sees an opportunity at Elland Road due to the imminent departure of Junior Firpo.
