MK Dons goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray has revealed he is keen to remain at the club as his contract comes to an end, as reported by the MK Citizen.
The stopper was speaking after his side beat Crewe Alexandra 1-0 on Easter Monday.
A ‘Bonkers’ Two Year Spell
The 32-year-old joined Milton Keynes two years ago after leaving Burton Albion and started his time at Stadium MK as the club’s first-choice keeper.
After less than six months at the club, the Scot was loaned out to Stevange for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign.
Upon his return to the club, he was unable to find consistent game time and, until the middle of April had played just three League Two matches this season.
Since then, he has produced three impressive displays and kept two clean sheets in Paul Warne’s opening matches in charge.
The former Portsmouth keeper described what it’s been like over the past two seasons.
“The season as a whole has been a very odd season for me,”
“Even last year, it was pretty bonkers for me, especially towards the back end. Even more, watching it from afar.”

Warne Offers A Fresh Start
Since Warne’s appointment, MacGillivray has kept two clean sheets as his side has collected four points and guaranteed their Football League status.
He may be coming to the end of his contract in the summer, but MacGillivray is open to signing a new deal with the club.
“I’m ecstatic to be in the team and playing again, but my contract is up at the end of the season. At some point, I’m sure he’ll go around and talk to each of the lads and tell them if he wants them to stay or not.”
“If he wants me to stay, definitely. I came here to get promoted, and if the gaffer wants me, that’s what I want to do. I want to get this club back up.”
Writer’s View
What a season it has been for MK Dons. As losing playoff semi-finalists last season, expectations were high for this campaign but the team have fallen woefully short.
With a serial promotion winner now in charge in the shape of Paul Warne, MacGillivray will be hoping his performances can earn him a new deal to be part of a side that challenges for a place in League One.
