Our Three Predictions For Port Vale vs Bromley
- First Prediction: Port Vale To Win – 61/100
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 17/20
- Third Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals – 19/20
First Prediction For Port Vale vs Bromley – Port Vale To Win – 61/100
After hitting a dreadful run of form throughout November and December, Port Vale have reignited their bid for automatic promotion since the turn of the year. With previous runaway leaders Walsall falling off a cliff, it has become a case of who can steal the advantage, with Bradford City and Vale taking charge. Darren Moore’s side have really hit their stride in recent weeks, securing big wins over the likes of Crewe Alexandra, Bradford and Walsall, and they enter this game level on points with the Bantams at the top of the table. They have five wins from their last six outings and it’s hard to see them dropping points in front of their own fans here.
Bromley have enjoyed an excellent first season in League Two and are nestled nicely in mid-table. They can mathematically still reach the play-offs but with a gap of nine points with five games left to play, it would take something special to break into the top seven. The Ravens picked up their first win in six last time out, recording an emphatic 4-0 win over relegation candidates Accrington Stanley. Still, Port Vale offer a much sterner test and it would take a phenomenal effort to upset the apple cart.
Second Prediction For Port Vale vs Bromley – Both Teams To Score – 17/20
Port Vale’s defensive resurgence has been a major part of their upturn in fortunes. Prior to their 3-2 win over Walsall last week, they had kept four clean sheets from five. This has seen their overall percentage of games where both teams have scored fall to 49% this season, whilst they are also conceding under one goal a game on average. However, they are up against a team which do know where the net is.
Bromley are averaging two goals a game from their last five outings and haven’t failed to score since losing 1-0 to Bradford City in February. They do tend to concede as well though, with their 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley their only clean sheet in their last six. 56% of their fixtures to date have seen both teams score, the sixth highest in the division.
Third Prediction For Port Vale vs Bromley – Over 2.5 Goals – 19/20
Port Vale will know they may need to score at least twice to secure another three points here. Bromley have outscored the Valiants this season and they haven’t failed to score on the road since January. The Staffordshire-based side have been low scorers over the course of the campaign and have only found the net on two or more occasions twice in their last five outings. However, it is tight at the top of League Two and they will have to be at their best to keep the pressure on leaders Bradford.
Only 44% of Bromley’s fixtures have seen three or more goals, although that figure increases when looking at recent form. A 1-1 draw with Newport County is their lowest scoring game in their past six outings and they have also lost 2-1 in two of their last three trips away from Hayes Lane.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Port Vale top the League Two form table over the last six games, winning five and losing one. That solitary defeat came at the hands of Barrow at the end of March, but the teams they have beaten have thrown them back into the title picture. The Valiants will be full of confidence after beating two of the top three in their last two games. A 2-0 victory over Bradford City on 1st April was a huge result, and they followed that with a 3-2 win over Walsall last week. As a result, Darren Moore’s side now sit second in the table, although they are level on points with Bradford, who have a better goal difference.
Bromley’s season has started to peter out in recent weeks. With a play-off berth looking increasingly unlikely, they find themselves playing for pride and hoping to secure a top half finish in their first season in the EFL. A 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley last weekend ended a run of five games without a win. That run saw them lose to Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United and Salford City, whilst the Ravens picked up a point against Walsall and Newport County.
With Bromley spending their entire history in non league prior to this season, December’s clash is their only previous meeting. It was a drab affair, with the two teams playing out a 0-0 draw at Hayes Lane.
