Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head:

Burton Albion go into this fixture still having a realistic chance of staying in League One as they are just three points behind Bristol Rovers but have a game in hand.

Before Gary Bowyer was appointed as the club’s new manager, relegation looked a certainty but the former Blackburn Rovers manager has managed seven wins from his 21 matches in charge to give the Brewers a chance.

Last time out, however, Albion went down by three goals to nil at automatic promotion chasers Wrexham. Bowyer’s side faced an uphill battle before the match but their task became almost impossible when Charlie Webster was sent off after just 11 minutes.

Webster was the hero in Burton’s previous game as his stroke levelled the scores after Leyton Orient’s Daniel Agyei had given his side a tenth-minute lead.

Just four minutes after Webster’s equaliser, Rumarn Burrell grabbed the all-important winner to keep Burton in touch with those above them.

Burton has won seven of their last 15 League One outings, including victories away at Wigan Athletic, Stevenage, Lincoln City and Shrewsbury Town. At home, they’ve seen off Rotherham United, Reading and Orient.

The impressive victory against playoff chasers Reading came in dramatic fashion. The Brewers raced into a two-goal lead inside half an hour thanks to Rumarn Burrell and Jon Dadi Bödvarsson before the Royals hit back and the game went into the dying seconds at 2-2.

Rumarn Burrell was the man to claim all three points in the 92nd minute following a quick break and cross from man of the match Owen Dodgson.

Burton Albion currently occupy 21st in League One having taken 39 from their 40 matches, registering nine wins, 12 draws and 19 defeats so far.

Burton has scored 41 goals so far with eight of those coming from Rumarn Burrell who leads the club’s scoring charts ahead of Danilo Orsi (currently on loan at MK Dons) who has six.

Elliot Watt and Owen Dodgson top the assist charts with four apiece ahead of Ben Whitfield, Tomas Kalinauskas and Orsi on three.

Huddersfield Town make the trip to the Pirelli Stadium with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread. The Terriers have lost five of their last seven matches and supporters are beginning to resign themselves to a second season in League One.

On Tuesday night, Wycombe Wanderers left the John Smith’s Stadium with all three points thanks to a Daniel Udoh strike. This has left Town four points behind Reading in the final playoff place.

Before losing to the Chairboys, Mansfield Town were beaten 2-1 thanks to Ruben Roosken and Ben Wiles to give the club a much-needed win following two straight losses.

Those defeats came on the road and within four days of each other. On April Fools Day, Lincoln City defeated the Yorkshiremen 1-0 at the LNER Stadium in a match where Jon Worthington’s side failed to get a shot on target.

That loss came off the back of a 4-0 hammering at Charlton Athletic that allowed the Addicks to pull clear in the playoff race.

Huddersfield are currently eighth with Bolton Wanderers and four points between them and the playoff spots. The Terriers have taken 64 points from their 41 matches, winning 19, drawing seven and losing 15 of those games.

The club have scored 54 goals at an average of 1.3 per match with top scorer Callum Marshall helping himself to nine. Antony Evans leads the assists chart with six, followed by Ben Wiles and Herbie Kane with five and four respectively.

Huddersfield have conceded 41 goals, an average of one per game, and kept 14 clean sheets so far this season.

These two sides have not met consistently over the years due to the differences in league standings but have shared results equally across the last three encounters.

Earlier this season, Burton left Huddersfield with an impressive point but will have been disappointed to have all three taken from them so late in the game.

Charlie Webster had given the Brewers a 13th-minute lead, a lead they would hold onto until there were just two minutes left on the clock and Michal Helik rescued a point for the home side.

Prior to that December meeting, the last time these sides had clashed was back in 2017 when both would claim a victory apiece.

Huddersfield snatched a late win at the Pirelli Stadium thanks to an 85th-minute Nahki Wells strike. The reverse fixture saw Burton return the favour, grabbing a late victory of their own through Jackson Irvine in the dying moments of the match.

Huddersfield would go on to gain promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs and Burton would stay in the Championship by the skin of their teeth.
