Cardiff City host Stoke City at the Cardiff City Stadium in a huge six-pointer in the Championship relegation battle.
Our Three Predictions For Cardiff City vs Stoke City
- First Prediction: Match Result – Draw – 23/10
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 83/100
- Third Prediction: Stoke City – Draw No Bet – 5/4
First Prediction For Cardiff City vs Stoke City – Match Result – Draw – 23/10
In a huge game at the bottom of the Championship, Cardiff City host Stoke City in the very definition of a six pointer. A win for the Bluebirds would see them move above Mark Robins side, although three points for the away side would open up a five point gap on their relegation rivals. Cardiff dropped into the bottom three without playing earlier this month when Derby County won their game in hand against Preston North End. The Welsh-based outfit have kept themselves in the fight though and enter this game on a four game unbeaten run. They salvaged a point in the dying stages against Preston on Tuesday night, their third draw in succession.
Stoke also drew in the midweek round of fixtures, despite leading until the 91st minute against Luton Town. The Potters have lost just one of their last five, with the last two finishing level. Their clash with Luton was a cagey affair for the most part, with both teams unwilling to make a mistake which would be a huge blow for their promotion hopes. Expect the same here.
Second Prediction For Cardiff City vs Stoke City – Both Teams To Score – 83/100
Only Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers have been involved in more games where both teams score than Cardiff City. The Bluebirds have seen this outcome in 59% of their fixtures this season, which also includes six of their last seven outings.
Stoke do fare lower in this market, both they have still seen 51% of their games hit this prediction, which includes their last three. It’s also worth noting that the pair played out a 2-2 draw in their meeting earlier this season in December. With so much riding on the game, both teams know that they have to score in order to aid their survival ambitions.
Third Prediction For Cardiff City vs Stoke City – Stoke City – Draw No Bet – 5/4
Although we’re tipping a draw, the bold may fancy backing Stoke City on a draw no bet option. They are over 2/1 in most markets to win outright but at 5/4, this looks a good opportunity. Despite dropping points in their last two games, performances under Mark Robins have started to improve. Their showings against Queens Park Rangers and Preston North End in particular offered some optimism and a similar performance here could see them sneak a win.
Stoke fans have had one eye on this game as the one that could potentially see them over the line. Although they won’t be mathematically safe, they’d certainly be one of the favourites to stay up, especially with teams above them such as Hull City, Oxford United and Portsmouth still well in the conversation.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Cardiff have slipped in the bottom three this month despite not losing in their last four games. This is mainly down to recording three draws, with points picked up against Sheffield Wednesday, Queens Park Rangers and Preston North End. A 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers prior to the international break was a valuable one, but that followed three successive defeats against Burnley, Sunderland and Luton Town.
Stoke have kept threatening to pull away from the bottom three over the past few weeks, but seem to drop points at the wrong time. Their last outing saw them concede an added time equaliser against fellow relegation battlers Luton, whilst a 1-1 draw against Preston could prove to be a valuable point. The Potters were impressive in a 3-1 win over QPR at the end of March, but they haven’t won on the road since beating Hull City at the beginning of February.
The pair have already met twice this season. The first came back in December at the bet365 Stadium, with the points shared in an entertaining 2-2 draw. They then met in the FA Cup fourth round in February, playing out a 3-3 draw before Cardiff won on penalties. Stoke haven’t beaten the Bluebirds in their last 10 meetings, with their last victory coming in 2020. However, they haven’t won in Wales since a FA Cup meeting in 2011, with their last league victory coming four years earlier.
