Our Three Predictions For Norwich City vs West Bromwich Albion
- First Prediction: Match Result – Draw – 11/5
- Second Prediction: Both Teams To Score – 33/50
- Third Prediction: Borja Sainz – Anytime Goalscorer – 12/5
First Prediction For Norwich City vs West Bromwich Albion – Match Result – Draw – 11/5
It’s been a largely disappointing campaign for Norwich, who appear to now be playing for pride. Having not won in four games, their play-off hopes are all but over and focus will be on improving next season. They won’t have given up on a top six finish though. They are just eight points off West Brom in that final play-off place, although they do sit 13th in the table. This means they are relying on several teams slipping up over the course of the next eight games, although taking points off the Baggies would see them close the gap on at least one team. However, they need to start winning games, having drawn four and lost three of their last eight league outings.
Nobody does draws quite like West Brom, which is why another wouldn’t be a shock here. The two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Hawthorns in November, one of 18 stalemates Tony Mowbray’s side have played in this season. They’ve also drawn four of their last six, including their last two against Burnley and Hull City.
Second Prediction For Norwich City vs West Bromwich Albion – Both Teams To Score – 33/50
On paper, this prediction looks nailed on. Both teams have scored in all of Norwich’s last six games whilst over the course of the season, 25 of their 38 fixtures have achieved the same outcome. That accounts for 66% of their games to date, more than any other team in the Championship. Furthermore, a staggering 84% of their games at Carrow Road have seen both teams find the net.
West Brom aren’t far behind Thorup’s side either, with 22 of their 38 games (58%) seeing this tip come in. This increases to a whopping 79% on the road, the highest percentage in the division. It’s also worth taking into account that only their last goalless draw came back in November against Sunderland. Since then, they’ve had one 2-2 (ironically against Norwich) and eight 1-1 draw.
Third Prediction For Norwich City vs West Bromwich Albion – Borja Sainz – Anytime Goalscorer – 12/5
Despite sitting in mid-table, Norwich boast two of the division’s top four goalscorers in Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent. The former has outscored anyone else in the Championship and has found the back of the net on 17 occasions in the league. The 24-year-old did hit a barren run in December though, going 13 games without a goal before he scored in the 3-2 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month. He followed that by netting against Bristol City before the international break.
Leeds United’s Joel Piroe sits second in the goalscoring charts with 15. Sainz will be desperate to secure the division’s Golden Boot, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him add to his tally here.

Full Preview of the Game: Last Results and Head-To-Head
Norwich have flirted with the play-off places for much of the campaign without ever breaking into the top six. However, their recent form has been poor which has seen them drop to 13th. The Canaries are winless in their last four, losing back-to-back games before the international break against Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City. They drew their two prior to that with a pair of 1-1’s against Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United. Thorup will be desperate to turn things around here as he clings to their slim play-off hopes, but Norwich’s only win in their last eight league games came in the way of a 4-2 victory against Stoke City last month.
West Brom have spent the majority of the season in the play-off places but find themselves clinging on. They currently sit sixth but are level on points with seventh-placed Bristol City. The fact of the matter is that they’ve drawn too many games, which includes four of their last six. This includes two 1-1 stalemates against Burnley and Hull City prior to the international break. However, the Baggies are unbeaten in six and have only lost three times since the turn of the year, the last of which came against Blackburn Rovers at the Hawthorns on February 12th.
This will be the 70th meeting between the two sides, with West Brom having the upper hand over the years. The West Midlanders have 29 wins to Norwich’s 22, with 18 clashes resulting in a draw. One of those came back in November when they played out a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns. The same fixture at Carrow Road last season was won by the Canaries when goals from Josh Sargent and Jonathan Rowe secured the three points. West Brom’s last victory in East Anglia came back in 2018.
